However, given that the publication date was April of this year, there should have been an update regarding the Google+ integration and how this affected the customization of the user's Channel URL, a very important core piece of YouTube identity. Page 52 describes the old version of the process. Google now requires significant skin in the game, either by adhering to the four criteria just below, or by linking one's website with one's Google+ id and placing that code snippet on every page of one's website:

To get a custom URL for your channel, your account needs to be in good standing and meet a few other requirements:

500 or more subscribers
Channels is at least 30 days old
Channel has uploaded a photo for the channel icon
Channel has uploaded channel art

You can also qualify for a custom URL by linking and verifying your official webpage with your channel or +Page.

light and music didn't work

This is a cute book for the a toddler (my 16 month old son LOVES these books), but this book is not the winner Halloween Bugs is (I highly recommend-- plus, bugs fit in better for that season). But this book is fun and cute nonetheless. Problem is, the one light in the whole book, along with the music, is the last page, and neither work! The light doesn't light up at all, and the music is this pathetic dying noise. I'd exchange it, but don't think I want to mess with shipping it back. I'd say buy this book if you think your little will enjoy it, but don't be too disappointed if the last page doesn't work.

UPDATE: I have since returned this book for a new one, and the new book is working great. Both my 16 month old and 3 yr old love it. The only problem is how my 16 month old isn't gentle with these books, but it is worth the price, even if I have to replace it one day.

This is your warning...

that once you buy one of these books, you'll end up with the entire collection. Children love these pop-up books because they are like no other books out there. The pages are beautiful and sturdy, while being incredibly interactive. We have so much fun reading this book. This series puts all other pop-up books to shame. The rest are the boring "lift-a-flap" for every page. Tons of fun and surprises are in store for the little hands that turn these pages!

Cute and Creative Christmas Book

My 18-month old daughter loves this book. The interactive elements are inventive and thoughtful. I also appreciate the quality of the rhyming text (sometimes the pop ups are cute, but the text is a mere boring afterthought), and there are a variety of different types of activities. Sometimes things pop up, other times there is a lift the flap. There is a bug ornament that you take out of the envelope and hang on the tree (which she loves to do again and again...I get so tired of that page!)
If you are looking for a Christmas book that is interactive and a little bit different, this fits the bill.
My only complaint is that the battery for the star on the last page has worn out, and it's not replacable! They should make it replacable like with so many other battery powered books.

Does the land mourn over sin? What are the blessings that come to the land when it is healed? Alistair has done a great job teaching on this and I recommend buying several copies of this book to share with others. Ann Gordon has been in the early childhood field for over 45 years as a teacher of young children, of parents, and of college students. She has taught in lab schools, church-related centers, and private and public preschool and kindergarten programs. While at Stanford, Ann was at the Bing Nursery School for 11 years and was a lecturer in the Psychology Department. For 10 years she also served as an adjunct faculty member in four colleges, teaching the full gamut of early childhood courses. Ann served as executive director of the National Association of Episcopal Schools for 14 years, where more than 1,100 early childhood programs were a part of her network. She is now consulting in the areas of early childhood curriculum governance and professional development.

Kathryn Williams Browne has been a teacher most of her adult life: a teacher of young children for nearly 20 years, a guide for parents of the families she served, and, more recently, a parent educator and an instructor of college students for more than 15 years. Her work with children includes nursery school, parent cooperatives, full-day child care, prekindergarten and bilingual preschools, and kindergarten and first grade. Kate's background in child development research led her to choose early childhood education. While a Head Teacher at Bing Nursery School and a lecturer with Stanford University, Kate developed a professional relationship with Ann Gordon that blossomed into work in teacher and parent education. Moreover, her role as a parent has influenced BEGINNINGS AND BEYOND: her two children were born during the first two editions, so the book grew along with them. Recent work as a consultant and public elementary school board trustee has offered Kate new perspectives on schools, reform, and collaboration. Working closely with her students while teaching in two community colleges over the last decade, she has gained constructive insights that inform this text in every revision.

A great book, using it for an online class. It has so much information starting with the history of early childhood education. Lots of great/interesting tables etc... with summary at the end of each chapter, lots of helpful websites and questions for review.

About the Author
Arthur George Morrison (1863-1945) was born and raised in the East End of London. His journalism was first published in the Globe in 1885 and he then worked as a clerk to the Beaumont Trustees, becoming sub-editor of the house paper, the Palace Journal. He left at the end of 1890 to join the editorial staff of the evening Globe before publishing his first book, The Shadows around Us, a collection of supernatural tales, in 1891. It is his acclaimed and controversial East End works though, Tales of Mean Streets (1894), A Child of the Jago (1896), and The Hole in the Wall (1902), for which he is best known.

An interesting take on the East End narrated through the eyes of a young boy although the narratorial style gets a little ham-handed at times.

Another old novel, based in tragedy and hardship, working its way through misadventures and ruthless selfishness, coming out .... well, no spoilers, OK? There's nothing profound or startling here, but it's a good story and I enjoyed it.

This is another great work from England. All I can say is read this. I wished my Grandfather was as loving as the one portrayed in this short novel.
